Newsweek Romania is organising the fourth edition of the Defense Summit, with this year’s main theme being the current threats to Romania’s security and how prepared our country is to deal with them, given the war in Ukraine.
This war had a major impact on the European Union and NATO countries, triggered a new arms race and revealed the state of the military’s armament and Romania’s current needs for military, road and economic infrastructure.
It has also led to the development of new defence strategies and new economic cooperation to strengthen the independence of member states.
In the context of the war in Ukraine, Romania’s geopolitical relevance has increased with the considerable appreciation of the danger of the war approaching its borders.
What are the current threats to Romania? What lessons have been learned so far? How important is cutting-edge technology in a war like the one in Ukraine, and how accessible is it to Romania? What are the needs of the Romanian army? What is at stake in the Black Sea region? How and how fast will the world change, what are the new values to which the European area is adhering in the context of multiple crises?
These are just some of the questions our guests will answer at the #2022 Defense Summit.
2022 DEFENSE SUMMIT will be held in hybrid format and will be broadcast from the Newsweek Romania studio.
The public will have access to the hall, by invitation, limited to 20 seats.
To register, please send an email to office@newsweek.ro and you will be confirmed by the organizer.
The event will be broadcast live on newsweek.ro (Top 10 most read News and Analysis website in the SATI ranking, with a traffic of over 2.6 million unique readers per month) and on Newsweek Romania’s Facebook page (64,000 followers and a monthly impact of 5 million posts).
