Dual vocational education can enter a new phase with the operationalisation of regional consortia formed for this purpose, bringing together high schools and universities, local public authorities and, most importantly, private companies offering to support pupils and students with knowledge and practice.
Private companies complain about the lack of specialists in various industries such as energy, construction, HORECA, automotive, etc. and the fact that vocational education is not adapted to the needs of the labour market, and that textbooks in high schools are old and not adapted to current technologies in the industries and new socio-economic conditions. Romania needs well-trained craftsmen who can provide quality and sustainable services that can contribute
to the development of the economy and increase the living standards of communities.
On the other hand, parents and pupils need to be better informed about the opportunities that a vocational college/dual school could open up for learning a trade.
Guidance towards the right career choice for each student is the responsibility of parents and teachers to provide them with the necessary information.
That’s why Newsweek Romania is organising on 10 May, in a hybrid format, the EDUCATION SUMMIT: How do we adapt vocational education to the labour market? Together with our guests from public authorities, high schools and companies, we will try to find answers to the problems raised by parents,
teachers, private companies, to see what their expectations are from the authorities in order to make education more efficient and adapt it to the current requirements of the labour market, but also what proposals the authorities come up with.
The public will have access to the hall, by invitation, subject to a limit of 20 seats.
To participate in the room, please register by emailing office@newsweek.ro and you will be confirmed by a message from the organizer. The event will be live streamed on newsweek.ro (Top 10 most read News and Analysis websites in SATI’s ranking, with a traffic of over 2.6 million unique readers per month) and on Newsweek Romania’s Facebook page (67,000 followers and a monthly impact of 5 million posts).
